EX Bafeng Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "EX Bafeng" , 八風, is represented by "Bafeng" in pinyin and "Eight Winds" in english and may be found:

On the dorsum of the foot between the web and metatarsophalangeal joint (4 points on each foot).

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Foot issues - pain, swelling, numbness.
  • Mentioned in the Ling Shu for malaria

While not necessarily valid clinically, KD 1 (Descends excess from above, useful for LV Yang Ri…), SP 2 (Generally used to clear damp-heat - gout, painful…) and ST 44 (Ying Spring Point - Clears heat from the channel …) are nearby.
