EX Xinming 2 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "EX Xinming 2" is represented by "Xinming 2" in pinyin and may be found:

At the depression 1 cun above the external end of eyebrow and 5 fen lateral.

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Xinming points were discovered by clinicians in the 70's.
  • A range of eye disease, macular edema, degeneration, glaucoma, etc.
  • Facial paralysis, trigeminal neuralgia, and other facial spasms (wind).

A single acupuncture point is not commonly thought of as an empirical way to influence a TCM diagnostic pattern. EXXinming 2, however, is a strong candidate to be incorporated into an acupuncture protocol for patients who exhibit: Liver Wind

EX Xinming 2 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Eye Problems, Glaucoma, Trigeminal Neuralgia and/or Vision Problems

While not necessarily valid clinically, TH 17 (Wind problems deriving from internal or external …) are nearby.
