Chinese Herbal and Acupuncture Treatment Protocols for Heart Disease - Formulas, Protocols, TCM Diagnoses

Heart Disease - Basics

The most common type of heart disease is coronary artery disease, a condition characterized by the build-up of plaque in the coronary arteries, which carry oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle. As a result, blood flow to the heart reduces, and the blocked blood vessels become susceptible to forming a blood clot. CAD can also cause heart attack, arrhythmias, and heart failure. Risk factors for CAD include diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking and being overweight.
Below you will find alternative and natural treatment options including those from a Chinese Medicine perspective for Heart Disease.
