Yue Ji Hua TCM Herb Classifications and Usages

The TCM herb "yue ji hua" which in english is "partially opened flower of chinese tea rose", is categorized within the "herbs that invigorate blood" functional grouping. It is thought to enter the liver channels and exhibits sweet (gan) and warm (wen) taste/temperature properties.

Dosages and preparations will vary according to each individual and the overall approach of a formula, but generally this herb has the following dosage and/or preparation guidelines:

  • Dosage: 3-6g

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Invigorates blood and regulates menses - blood stasis w/scanty menses, amenorrhea, and/or chest and abdominal pain and distention.

Yue Ji Hua has some precautions to be considered (see our precautions list).

  • Avoid during Pregnancy.
