Five Phase - Spleen Deficiency Liver Excess Pattern

  • Treatment Points:
  • Technique: #1 or #2 needle, approx. 2-3mm insertion, vibrating needle, retain approx. 3-5 minutes
  • SP Deficiency Points:
  • Fire Points - PC 8 & SP 2 or
  • Yuan Source Points - PC 7 & SP 3
  • LV Excess Heat Points (choose 1 from each channel and both SP points):
  • GB 38 or GB 36
  • TH 3 or TH 5
  • LV 2, LV 3, LV 4 or LV 8
  • SP 6 and SP 10
  • Supplementary Points:
  • UB 25, UB 31, UB 32, UB 33, UB 34
  • Common Symptoms:
  • Headache a/or neck stiffness
  • Cold below and warm above
  • Constipation
  • Twitching a/or pain of the muscles
  • Suppression of anger
  • Depression effecting libido
  • Related Patterns & Treatment (in lieu of controlling cycle):
  • HT heat: tonify KD 2, disperse GB 41
  • SP heat: disperse ST 36, ST 37 & ST 39
  • LU heat: tonify PC 5, SP 3 & LU 10
  • KD heat: disperse UB 40
